Research/Working fields:
The goal of the Institute for Transportation System Planning is to contribute to the solution of urban and regional planning problems in the area of transportation through education and research. Students are trained to apply aspects of transportation system technology within the complex field of planning. Based on the principles of transportation planning, the core or study covers the following areas: interrelation of transportation and land use, demand models, systemoperational alternatives and assessment of resulting effects in individual transportation systems. Special courses deal with partial aspects of transportation system planning, e.g. mobility, international transportation, transportation safety and telecommunications. The research spectrum covers such topics as: examination of price reality in transportation, transit, mobility and its housing-structural conditions.
